Claude for Everyone — Nairobi: 316 Registered, Rain Couldn't Stop Us
316 people registered for Claude for Everyone — Nairobi on March 20, 2026. It was the largest Claude community event registration in Africa.
Then it rained.
21 builders made it through. And honestly? They got something better than a packed room. They got a focused, hands-on session where every person could ask questions, try Claude live, and go deep on the features that matter to their actual work.
What We Covered The session walked through the entire Claude ecosystem in one sitting:
Claude AI — Live demos on artifacts (we built a working KES-to-USD converter in seconds), extended thinking (watching Claude's reasoning chain unfold in real-time), vision (uploading documents and images for instant analysis), and web search.
Claude Code — The developer deep dive. We opened an empty terminal and built a production-ready application scaffold live. No slides. Just a real agentic coding loop: plan → code → test → commit.
Cowork — The non-developer game-changer. File organization, receipts to spreadsheets, meeting notes to action items. All from a desktop app with no code required.
Community Highlight: Billy Mwangi The standout moment was Billy Mwangi's live workflow demo. Billy walked the room through his full Claude Code setup — from his CLAUDE.md configuration to the custom Skills and MCP integrations he uses daily. The room was asking questions before he could finish typing. That's what this community is about: real builders showing real work.
What's Next We're running the session again on Friday, March 27 at Blockchain Centre Nairobi for the 295 who couldn't make it. This is the last "Claude for Everyone" before we shift to specialized deep-dive workshops in April.
Season 2 of Claude Community Kenya starts now. 2 in-person events per month. 2 online webinars per month. Every month.
